Triple
The only triple and the most unique of all rooms at Moritosha, this room features a bathtub made entirely of Hinoki cypress and contains a distinctive leather chair actually used by Keiichi Yasukawa.
A former Buddhist training hall designed by Soetsu Yanagi’s beloved disciple, Keiichi Yasukawa. While preserving the atmosphere of the past where people gathered and studied, the second floor has been remodelled into six guest rooms. Mingei items from various eras and regions are displayed throughout each room. Many items from Yasukawa’s own collection which had changed hands have been gradually returned and are displayed in the space. Experience the wholesome and serene beauty distinctive of Mingei through the harmony between the architecture and furnishings.

We have five twin rooms at Moritosha, each with a private shower and a slightly different layout. Each one contains a “Tokonoma” alcove where you can enjoy the resonance created by the presence of Mingei items.
